"Beauties Unified" - BIOTHERM

Thursday, June 3, 2010 · 0 comments

On the 2
nd of June 2010, Biotherm was invited to set up a road show, an exhibition of their brand and products from 12.00pm to 2.00pm in front of Student Development Hub.

Booths and counters were assembled the previous day to avoid last minute preparations. Student ambassadors were chosen earlier on to help attract the crowd and to promote the items. Skincare consultants and employees from Biotherm’s marketing department were also present. Throughout the day, games were played and prizes won. At the same time, it was made known that a tutorial will be held the next day.

On the 3
rd of June 2010, the same team of consultants made their way to LT12 at 1.30pm. Organizers of the event had extended a helping hand to carry huge boxes of products, buntings, flyers, and all that was necessary. They immediately got to work to get all their materials into its rightful place.

Around 2.15pm, the theater was filled with participants and no time was wasted. A consultant began to introduce herself and shared a summary of the Biotherm’s history. The first fact that was imparted was that everyone’s skin is different and it must be discovered what suits it best.

This tutorial focused mainly on the four basic steps of skincare regimen. Participants were instructed and encouraged to get a firsthand experience by involving and practicing on themselves. Initially, participants were given wipes to clean their faces from dirt.

Next, they used a cleanser to wash their faces. A cooling clay mask is then applied and left on for 5 minutes. The clay mask was removed by water and the last step was to moisturize. Throughout this process, participants were aided by consultants who were simultaneously explaining the benefits of doing so.

The tutorial ended with a question and answe
r session. This effectively covers tips, reviews on alternate products and treatments and other general skincare. By 3.30pm, the theater was cleaned and everything was returned to its original positions.

"Beauties Unified" - Majolica Majorca, SHISEIDO

On the 2nd of June 2010 in LT12 from 2.00 pm to 3.00 pm. Majolica Majorca, Shiseido was invited to give a workshop on the importance of applying makeup and to impart the tricks of the trade.

At 1.40 pm, beauty consultants and professional make-up artists from Shiseido entered our lecture theater. Our attention was immediately captured by their beautiful appearances and smart dressing. After a round of introductions, they got to work and displayed their range of products which they found was suitable for us.

Participants began to fill the lecture theater and soon after, the workshop was in full swing. The consultants started by focusing on the importance to applying make-up and the difference it will make. Colours which are often mismatched when choosing foundation, blusher, and eye shadow were also discussed.

Next, technical skills were displayed on a projector and steps were emphasized to help participants remember how and where to apply make-up. To keep the ball rolling, a volunteer was chosen amongst the participants for a demonstration. A professional makeup artist repeated the step while demonstrating again how it is done.

Due to active responses from the participants, the session ended much later compared to the schedule. In addition to that, the team decided to stay a little longer to ensure that all questions were answered. At the same time, participants came up close and personal to gain advice in order to satisfy their individual needs.

The Beauties Unified Week commenced on the 1st of June 2010 in LT12 from 2.00 pm to 3.00 pm. Laurier, KAO was invited to give a tutorial on their sanitary product brand.

At 1.20 pm, Laurier’s sales person and a representative from the marketing department arrived to set up their booth. Boxes of complimentary samples, notebooks, and buntings were amongst the materials brought to make this workshop a success.

Displays of free gift and colourful posters attracted students as well as staff members to the booth like moths to a flame. Soon enough, a vast number of students gathered around the area to feed their curiosity. As organizers of the event, we aided the team by handing out feedback forms to those who are interested in knowing more.

They were then directed to the demonstration booth. The effectiveness and superior qualities of Laurier’s product were witness by all during a live demonstration that was performed by a salesperson. Moreover, participants grew excited when they were given an opportunity to pose in a photo shoot. The demonstration lasted till 3.10 pm.
