What is Taylor’s MUN 2011?
Taylor’s MUN 2011 is a collaboration effort between two of the most active and prestigious Model United Nations Clubs in Malaysia, namely TAYMUN of Taylor’s College Subang Jaya, and TLCMUN of Taylor’s Lakeside Campus. While TAYMUN was founded in 2008 and TLCMUN was founded in 2010, the two clubs have hosted multiple successful nationwide MUN conferences, providing an enriching experience to hundreds of delegates around Malaysia in the methodology and principles behind the United Nations. Both clubs share the common goal of working for achieving the ideals of the United Nations such as free speech and democracy through diplomacy and education. The latest and most ambitious effort towards this goal has culminated in TMUN 2011.
TMUN 2011 aims for nothing less than to be the premier MUN conference in the region for University and Pre-university students. This inaugural conference will be held at the brand new state-of-the-art Taylor’s Lakeside Campus, a short distance from some of the best tourist attractions in Malaysia such as the Sunway Lagoon Theme Park. With a panel of experts arranged to educate delegates on global issues, renowned speakers, entertaining social night parties, comfortable accommodation, and a dedicated secretariat, delegates will engage in an extraordinary experience with like-minded peers from various countries and cultures.
Another factor which makes TMUN 2011 unique is our adoption of the conference format from the leading MUN conferences of the world such as Harvard World MUN and Global MUN, which represents a much closer style to the actual United Nations as compared to typical local conferences. Workshops and training will be provided to delegates to ensure a high quality academic experience.
