HELPMUNC II Day 1, 2 and 3

HELP University College's II Model United Nations Conference was held on the 26th, 27th and the 28th of March 2010, Friday-Sunday. There were 4 committees in this conference namely; Disarmament and Security Council (DISEC), Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), Human Rights Council (HRC) and Security Council.

Many institutions participated in this conference and not to forget Taylor's Lakeside Campus Model United Nations as well. It was a great learning experience for all as there were many newcomers of Model United Nations within their own respective institutions.

Resolutions were passed and failed. The plenary session on the last day the hit of the conference as all committees were merged into one. It was breathtaking with all its amusing delegates and frustrated chairs all in a cool manner.

The South East Asian Student Activities Conference (SEASAC) Model United Nations (MUN) Conference III was held on the 19th and 20th of March 2010, Friday and Saturday. Taylor's Lakeside Campus Model United Nations is proud to have participated in this prestigious conference. Here is an extract from the published report on SEASACMUN III titled 'A Matter of Personal Importance' by Jonathan Yee

"Although it has only been two days, much has certainly happened. Resolutions were passed, food was gobbled and numbers were exchanged. With all that has been going on, it gets difficult to remember the details, so here's a quick recap: The opening ceremony was kicked off by an orchestra performance of an Argentinean tango.

This was followed by a quick video presentation by Nurliza Auni, highlighting the key topics of discussion. This brought focus on the main aims of the UN, which are, to keep peace throughout the world, to develop friendly relations between nations, to work together to help people live better lives, to eliminate poverty, disease and illiteracy in the world, to stop environmental destruction and to encourage respect for each other's rights and freedoms."

There were 7 committees in this conference namely; Security Council, Human Rights, Economic and Social (ECOSOC), Polotical, Environment 1, Environment 2 and General Assembly. All in which were participated by institutions comprising ofBangkok Patana School, British International School, Canadian International School of Hong Kong, Garden International School, International School of Yangon, Mont' Kiara International School, New International School of Thailand, Ruamrudee International School, Surabaya International School, Surabaya, The Alice Smith School, Taylor's Lakeside Campus of Taylor's University College, Sri Garden Kuala Lumpurand United World College of South East Asia.
